McDonald’s Philippines continues investment in the customer experience with service technology innovations

MANILA, Philippines, October 10, 2018McDonald’s Philippines strengthens its commitment to improving the customer experience as it launches McDonald’s NXTGEN. Seen at the recently opened McDonald’s McKinley West in Fort Bonifacio, McDonald’s NXTGEN puts the company at the forefront of the industry, as it introduces a new multi-point service platform that is expected to address the growing and changing demands of Filipino consumers.

The new service platform of McDonald’s NXTGEN offers customers the convenience of multi-point ordering. Most noticeably, the Self-Ordering Kiosks, allowing customers a digitized alternative to order and pay for their McDonald’s favorites, provides a more seamless transaction process. The Self-Ordering Kiosks accept Mastercard and Visa card payments, regardless of issuing bank. Guests who still prefer to pay in cash may also do so by proceeding to the Front Counter where there are dedicated lanes for ordering assisted by the Modernized Menu Boards, and claiming with the new Split Counter system.

McDonald’s NXTGEN continues to put a premium on service, with dedicated McDonald’s crew specially trained in hospitality, and specifically tasked to entertain the needs of the customers and acquaint them with the NXTGEN experience.

A McDonald’s NXTGEN store boasts modern yet inviting interiors, marked by neutral tones and atmospheric lighting, and unique noticeable features distinguished by digital integration.

“McDonald’s NXTGEN is a strategic investment as the brand continues to grow in the country. Our goal is to provide a better and more relevant McDonald’s experience in a modern restaurant environment to more Filipinos,” said Kenneth S. Yang, President and Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s Philippines.

NXTGEN delivers enhanced convenience to customers and is expected to drive significant growth to the company as it sets it sights on achieving continuous double-digit growth this year. Based on the performance of the NXTGEN stores in other McDonald’s markets, individual stores are expected to experience an increase in sales by a minimum of 5-7%.

“Beyond just expanding our footprint, continuing to elevate the customer experience through convenience enhancements is our priority. This is the true essence of McDonald’s NXTGEN—it is about evolving with our customers and thriving in this experience economy. This will contribute to the total growth of McDonald’s Philippines,” said Margot B. Torres, Managing Director of McDonald’s Philippines.

Yang and Torres revealed that the company projects 10% of its restaurants to follow the NXTGEN store format by 2019, and to increase to 70% by 2021.

McDonald’s McKinley West is located along Lawton Avenue corner Jusmag Road. Other McDonald’s stores, such as McDonald’s Madison (San Juan), Kapitolyo (Pasig), Robinson’s Galleria (Pasig), and Pioneer Reliance (Pasig) already offer NXTGEN features.
