The Imperium, Ortigas & Company’s prime residential tower in the Capitol Commons estate, was awarded the Best Luxury Condo Architectural Design in the recently concluded 2018 PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards.
In ceremonies held at the Fairmont Makati, the Imperium’s design was cited for being simple yet elegant; an enthralling standout for its bold circular structure. Its 57 percent glass-to-concrete ratio was also deemed energy-efficient, and an excellent complement to the tower’s sophisticated design.
The Imperium was also Highly Commended in the Best Luxury Condo Development in Metro Manila category.
“We are proud to achieve this honor. We aimed to create a remarkable structure for our future residents, and these awards represent the caliber of work that we do in our properties and estates. We celebrate this victory with our partners, employees, and customers who have been instrumental in enabling and inspiring us to deliver places that are built for life,” Ortigas & Company President and Chief Executive Officer Jaime E. Ysmael said.
With only four units to a floor, the Imperium is Ortigas & Company’s most exclusive luxury development. To realize its vision to become the metro’s prime address of choice, Ortigas & Company applied the highest, strictest standards in design and structural integrity to create an edifice worthy of the multi-million investment.
The Imperium’s architectural design is towering and regal. Its circular structure will become a landmark in the Capitol Commons estate. The 62-storey tower boasts of elegantly-appointed rooms rendered in two to three-bedroom configurations, as well as larger suites for a truly grand lifestyle. Still using design for function, the Imperium’s form is complemented by unique trapezoidal canted windows that reduce the need for artificial lighting, as it adds both illumination and protection from the sun’s glare.
The tower employs a 57 percent glass-to-concrete ratio for energy efficiency. Its double-glazed windows also allow for excellent noise reduction, thermal efficiency, and weather insulation benefits.
Beyond the tower’s imposing aesthetics, The Imperium is held in place by building technology designed to withstand the impact of a strong typhoon or earthquake.
Called buckling-restrained brace or BRB, this technology is widely recognized for having significant advantages over typical braced frames by improving the strength, stiffness, and energy absorbing capacity of structures. Imperium’s BRB is made of a steel core well suited for the building’s slender shape.
Complementing the Imperium’s architectural features are the cosmopolitan offers of Capitol Commons, the latest addition to the Ortigas central business district. The estate surrounding the Imperium is a mix of retail, business, dining, and entertainment hotspots, fused to provide a novel take on the upscale lifestyle.
