Circuit Makati is taking Filipino entertainment to a whole new level by mounting an outdoor cinema that is sure to thrill everyone in search of a unique viewing experience.
Paying tribute to Filipino talent, Cine Circuit will showcase a selection of independent Filipino films to celebrate Circuit Makati’s yearly tradition of bringing the outdoor cinema experience to the movie-going public. In partnership with Viva Networks and PBO, Cine Circuit will feature eight independent films that capture the genius and breadth of talent of Filipino artists.
Running from May 11-13, Cine Circuit provides the perfect opportunity for city dwellers to discover how Filipino artists compare with the world’s best, while at the same time allowing them to enjoy the many offerings in the entertainment enclave that is Circuit Makati. Circuit Makati is a sustainable, mixed-use estate by Ayala Land that offer exciting events and activities to its community throughout the year.

On Friday, May 11, Cine Circuit kicks off with 100 Tula para kay Stella, a 2017 Philippine romantic film directed by Jason Paul Laxamana starring Bela Padilla, and JC Santos, who play college students in the film. In the movie, Fidel (JC Santos) writes poems to express his love for Stella (Bela) but does not have the confidence to read these to her.
Also being screened on opening day is ABNKKBSNPLAko?! (to be read as “Aba, nakakabasa na pala ako?!”), a light comedy based on the 2001 best selling autobiography by Filipino author Bob Ong, one of the most popular writers of this time. The film details his earliest days as a student until his first few years at work, providing the audience with nuggets of inspiration and some life lessons.
On Saturday, May 12, Jericho Rosales and Bela Padilla star in Luck at First Sight, a light romance where Joma (Jericho) discovers that Diane (Bela) is his life charm, but that their luck will disappear if one of them falls in love with the other.
Next on the spotlight is Kita Kita, a story between Lea (Alessandra De Rossi), a Pinay tour guide based in Japan who is recovering from an inexplicably long “temporary” blindness that was caused by a heartbreak; Tonyo (Empoy Marquez), the kabayan who lives across her house and pursues her with kindness and humor.
The second day closes with Binhi, a horror film, that will send shivers down the spine of moviegoers as they witness the haunting of protagonists Daniel and Cynthia, and discover the chilling story behind the apparitions.
On Sunday, May 13, Cine Circuit opens with Kusina, a 2016 film which tells the life story of Juanita, who creates dishes for her family, her friends, even enemies and strangers, in the process revealing herself to them.
Next up is This Time, a 2016 romantic drama starring real life couple, James Reid and Nadine Lustre, who play childhood friends who struggle with a long-distance relationship. The film was loosely based on the Wattpad novel That One Summer by Aly Almario.
Last but not the least is Camp Sawi, a 2016 Filipino comedy-drama film starring Andi Eigenmann, Bela Padilla, Yassi Pressman, Kim Molina, Sam Milby and Arci Muñoz, who play broken hearted women struggling to deal with their pain.
Indeed, Cine Circuit is a fun, relaxing way to appreciate the best of Filipino films while savoring the excitement that the outdoor cinema experience brings.
